A native British tree
- Grows throughout Britain tolerating a wide range of soils except peat
- It is an important wildlife tree with fragrant flowers for insects and autumn berries for birds and small mammals
- Mature height 7 metres
- A good choice for hedgerow or as a shelter bed tree and will develop to a medium sized tree if left uncut and as a farm field specimen
